Parsley (Petroselinum crispum)

Parsley is a biennial that grows to approximately 1 to 2 feet in height. There are over 30 varieties of parsley but the main varieties used in cooking are curled parsley and flat leaf or Italian parsley.

Parsley's exact origins are unknown, it is considered to be native to Sardinia and the Mediterranean.

Parsley has a fresh, crisp, gentle flavour and works well at amalgamating the flavours around it. Traditionally features in well known blends like fines herbes, and bouquet garni, it can also be used in eggs, potatoes, soups, pasta, vegetables, sauces, fish, poultry, veal and pork.

We use organic parsley in our Barbecue Spice, Savoury Herb, Bouquet Garni, and Pesto blends.
